1. What we build

One tool per everyday calculation or conversion, grouped into categories: money and payroll, property, health and fitness, cooking, dates and time, file conversion, developer utilities, tools for Muslim users, cognitive tests, and party games.

The bar for adding a tool is simple: can someone who arrived from a search get their answer on one screen? Anything that needs a multi-step flow or an account to make sense doesn't get built. That is why every tool is a single URL — send the link and the other person lands on the same screen.

The interface is available in ten languages (Korean, English, Japanese, Arabic, Spanish, French, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Traditional Chinese). Currency is a separate axis from language, so you can read in English and still see amounts in your own currency.

One thing worth stating plainly: the per-language pages are translations of the same tools, not additional tools. The site's total URL count is tools multiplied by languages, which looks large — but the number of distinct tools is the number listed under the categories, not that URL count. Language versions exist because people read in those languages, not to inflate a page count.

2. How it works — your input mostly stays on your device

Calculators, converters, timers, and file tools all run inside your browser. Splitting a PDF or compressing an image does not upload the file: the browser does the work and hands the result straight back to you.

The exceptions are tools that cannot exist without outside data: exchange rates, public holidays by country, the IP address lookup, and the gold and silver prices used by the zakat calculator. Prayer times, Qibla, and Ramadan use your device location if you allow it. Every one of these calls is listed in section 4 of the privacy policy.

There is no sign-up and no login. Convenience values such as your language choice or your timer list live only in your browser's localStorage and disappear when you clear browser data.

3. Where the numbers come from

For anything governed by law, an official rate, or a published standard, we work from primary sources first: the legislation itself, notices from the responsible ministry or regulator, standards-body documents, and first-party provider documentation. We do not copy figures out of blog posts or summary articles.

When a calculation has no single agreed basis, we show the choice instead of silently picking one. Basal metabolic rate has several competing formulas, so the tool states which one produced your number. The halal stock screener lets you pick the AAOIFI, Dow Jones, or MSCI thresholds, because the same stock can pass under one and fail under another. Hard-coding a single standard would produce a tool that is confidently wrong.

Rates and thresholds that change annually are tracked as maintenance items. Tools whose methodology has been written up carry a "Method and sources" block at the bottom of the page with the formula, a worked example, the limits, the effective date, and the date a human last reviewed it. Tools without that block simply haven't had their review record published yet; we are working down the list.

The review date is the date a person actually checked. It does not advance automatically on deploy — a "last reviewed" date that updates itself guarantees nothing.

4. Who runs this, and independence

utils.im is built and operated by an individual. It is not a government agency, a regulator, a financial institution, a medical provider, or a standards body, and it does not act on behalf of any of them.

Results here are reference estimates. They are not tax, legal, medical, or investment advice, and they do not replace an official determination or a diagnosis. Before you file, sign, treat, or invest, confirm with the responsible authority or a qualified professional.

No tool on this site claims to have been reviewed by an expert. We will only make that claim on a page that also names the reviewer and the scope of the review.

5. If it's wrong, we fix it

If a result looks wrong, tell us at thesockerrr@gmail.com. Five things make it reproducible: (1) the page URL, (2) the interface language, (3) the values you entered, (4) the result you got, and (5) the result you expected, with a source — a statute, an official document, a link.

Once reproduced, we correct the code or the copy. If the methodology itself changed, the review date in that tool's "Method and sources" block is updated at the same time.

Suggestions for new tools are welcome too. If it fits the bar in section 1, it goes on the queue.

6. Advertising and analytics

Advertising pays for running this site. It does not decide which tools rank higher on the home page or what any calculator returns — ad slots sit in fixed positions outside the tool interface.

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which tools get used and how often. Values you type into a calculator are never sent. Cookies, what is collected, and how to opt out are set out in section 5 of the privacy policy.

7. Cost

Every tool is free. There is no paid tier, no usage cap, and no screen that asks you to register before showing your result.
